I am a data engineer, data analyst, and fiber artist. I like to explore problems, develop solutions, and tell stories with my work.
Take your time to look around, browse my projects, and get to know me a little better.
The Minneapolis Institute of Art is home to over 90,000 pieces of art and history although they are only able to display a fraction of their inventory. However, they have provided their inventory records on their GitHub account for the public to explore.
My goal for ingesting and analyzing the Mia data was to gain experience with developing ETL pipelines, handling data in JSON format, and getting a deeper understanding of the history of Mia through the facts about the items. During data exploration, I determined that I would be able to answer questions regarding who donated the most pieces, the origin of the majority of the works, and which works have been displayed for the longest amount of time.
At this point, I have completed the ETL pipeline and now have a relational database that is ready for data analysis. My next step is to import the data into Microsoft Power BI and create a comprehensive report to answer my previously defined questions.
